I was born in Brooklyn (like everybody), but I served in the Israeli army; my first reserve duty was the Six-Day War. My father was a Palestinian--born in Poland, emigrated to Palestine when he was three years old, in 1920. I inherited a deep love of Israel from him. I hate the stream of lies I read and hear daily about Israel. I love Israel's people--all of them. [Contact me: joel dot orr at gmail dot com]

Getting the word out through domain names
The following list of websites are pro-Israel, even though the names might suggest otherwise:
www.jenin.org
www.alaqsabrigade.org
www.beitjalla.com
www.ahmedyassin.org
www.tanzim.net
www.tulkarem.org
www.force17.org
www.hamas.org.uk
www.palestinefacts.org
www.middleeastfacts.com
JIA wants to encourage this type of activity since such websites will capture the attention of people who might pass by a site with an obvious pro-Israel name. Unfortunately some Internet users will not even click on a link unless it seems to agree with their preconceived ideas. To try to reach them, some method like this is needed.
These websites vary in content and quality, but all types of sites are needed to reach people with different mindsets and varying attitudes. If you, or someone you know, needs help with a pro-Israel or Jewish website, please contact JIA.

Schweitzer's proposal
Dwight Owen Schweitzer lists 18 points, truths that must be acknowledged. As he points out himself, there's enough in there to make everyone mad at him. (The one that hit my hot button: giving even a piece of Jerusalem to the "Palestinians.")
But such objections aside, this is by far the best starting place I have seen for a sane proposal.
On the other hand, I think it has a snowball's chance in Hell of being entertained for more than three seconds by the other side. Nonetheless, it could serve as a rallying point for our highly-fragmented team, and yet another demonstration to the world of our reasonableness.
And on the third hand, though I hate to admit it--it won't make a bit of difference to the world, who hates Jews for being Jews.
Sigh.

The Baby Face of Hate
The Baby Face of Hate, in The Daily Standard, should help anyone who is honestly trying to understand whether peace with Muslims is possible. (Thanks, Charles/LGF.)
It's time to plug our ears
In Israelinsider, Michael Freund says we need to do what's good for the Jews - even if the world doesn't like it.
Startling trends in American Judaism
Writing from Gush Etzion, Yehoshua Mizrachi points out the disintegration of Judaism in America. His response - return to Torah and the Land - is clearly a minority choice. But where is a better one for American Jews?
Poll: Majority of Palestinians See Israel's Elimination as Goal
This report from Reuters does not surprise me at all. "What you do speaks so loud I can't hear what you say." When "Palestinians" talk peace, they are really saying, "Hold still for a minute..."

A daring column
Warning: this JPost column is not politically correct! Thanks, Jonathan, for expressing my own thoughts so well.
EU Suspends Funding to PA in Wake of Terror Victim Suit
EU Suspends Funding to PA in Wake of Terror Victim Suit, says the attorney's press release. Makes me feel a lot better about the 1823 new lawyers that just graduated in Israel a couple of days ago. If only the power of Jewish lawyers could be directed against the bad guys...
Why don't the Arabs give the Palestinians a homeland?
Why don't the Arabs give the Palestinians a homeland? Mike Royko asked this simple question in 1989.
Bush doctrine: A sobering but refreshing analysis

Look at their faces
Eyal and Yael Sorek, 23 and 21, and their almost-born baby were murdered yesterday in Karmei Tzur.
How long will we tolerate this horror? What has to happen before we put a stop to this desecration of all we hold holy? So far, our clear message to Arafat and all his Jew-hating friends is that terror accomplishes their ends, and we will make only token responses.
Why do we keep acting as though the Arabs share our values? THEY DON'T!
